FEAR

Fear is a constant force in Life

A Force that holds no prisoners,

Regardless of colour, creed, or race, it doesn’t discriminate.

It lives in each of us at every moment,

Moments where we vulnerably decide to give it life.

Fear has brought the most famous of legends into the realm,

While also illustrating who are the mere mortals.

It is an enemy to some, consuming their mind,

While an instigator to others to conquer onto greater feats!

Fear has taken each of us on interesting journeys,

Sometimes bringing to the fore unresolved issues,

Sometimes reminding us that which comforts us.

Fear is something we all recognise

When we look into the mirror.

It reveals to us who we are at our very best when tested,

And also reminds us of the worst we could represent.

Our greatest step is to recognise that Fear,

Acknowledging it for the temporary force it can be,

Yet carrying on our life journey,

Letting it be a passive passenger.

So as a new day arises, let us think…

Do we let Fear overcome us?

Or do we proceed with the courage,

Knowing Fear is that timely reminder,

Of what we can be at our very best!

F for Focus!

FOCUS. How many countless mentors, teachers, Gurus, business coaches and the like use this word in their teachings. We know Focus is a great quality to have, applicable both in our personal and career areas. Often we think of it in the grander scheme of things. But, have we have ever thought of focus in the smaller things?

Do we focus much in that short business meeting, that call we are busy with, that email we are currently writing, or the show we are watching? I am talking about a deep focus on each of these such that those things matter in the PRESENT, the NOW! It’s a focus where nothing else matters, even for a minute. Too often in these small matters we tend to forget the Focus that is required…there’s too many distractions to whisk our attention away, even for a second. Even the clutter in the mind during these moments becomes too loud and we lose our focus.

So today as you make that call, go for that meeting, or are busy in a creative pursuit, remember to have deep FOCUS!
